While in India, we were invited to minister to a village of “untouchables.” This is the lowest caste (social status). Because of cultural beliefs in Hinduism, these people are considered cursed. Their society believes to “touch,” or even recognize these villagers, brings a curse for the person. The people in this caste include poor families, widows, and orphans. They have little hope until they find the hope that comes through relationship with Jesus!

Two years ago, no one in this village called Jesus “Lord.” Members from an American mission team went in and ministered. Local missionaries continued to disciple and now 40 have come to know Jesus! We were privileged to meet and minister with these precious people. The children sang us a song about praying (“telephone to Jesus”). Barbara gave a salvation message and three came forward. Many others received prayer as Marlyse and Joyce prayed for them. The Lord ministered through us and many were touched by God. During this prayer time, 20 others in the village came to watch as the Gospel was shared and people received ministry. The host family honored us by inviting us to have tea after the meeting and several more people came for prayer.
